Meet the team

My name is Geoff Munn, I hail from a quaint little town in the southeast of South Australia, where I was instilled with timeless country values and an unwavering work ethic.

My journey into the world of building began with my grandfather, a master carpenter and small business owner. As a young boy, I spent countless hours in his workshop, and this sparked my lifelong passion for creating and building. High school further ignited my interest in woodwork and carpentry, and I also discovered a fascination for design and architecture.

 At the age of 16, I made a bold move and left home to pursue an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery with the Australian Army. Those two rigorous years at the army apprentice training school honed my skills and disciplined my craft. Following that, I dedicated the next five years to serving my country as a trade-qualified field engineer. During this time, my passion for design and architecture continued to grow, and I undertook various drafting and supervision courses to further my skills. 

 Transitioning to civilian life, I worked for multiple companies in Sydney as a project coordinator, project manager, and site supervisor. This period allowed me to explore all areas of construction, but I found my true calling in residential construction, particularly renovations and additions. The custom nature of these projects truly resonated with me, and I eventually started my own renovation business in Sydney. After five successful years, I moved back to South Australia in 2008 and continued working as a carpenter for my cousin's building company before relocating to Adelaide in 2010. 

 In Adelaide, I took on roles as a project manager and construction manager for several residential building companies, primarily focusing on custom renovations for small family businesses. In October 2021, driven by a desire to maintain a customer-focused approach, I founded Improve Renovations. Our tagline, "Transforming Spaces and Creating Dreams," encapsulates my mission: to collaborate with homeowners in transforming their main asset into a space they can cherish for years to come. I am deeply passionate about builder-client relationships, transparency, and quality. Even after 35 years in the industry, I still find immense joy in witnessing clients' reactions to the transformative power of a well-executed renovation. 

 Beyond my professional life, I cherish my family. My wife of over 30 years and I have two wonderful adult sons—one an award-winning barber and the other a doctor and aspiring orthopedic surgeon. I am also blessed with two delightful grandchildren, with whom I love spending quality time. In my leisure, I enjoy playing golf, lawn bowls, and following AFL and cricket.
